Abir Ghosh, the esteemed Chairman of TALISHA Space Research Organization, was born into a middle-class family in Palla, Burdhaman, West Bengal. Raised in a nurturing environment, Abir’s parents, Amiya Kumar Ghosh, an agriculture office worker, and Moumita Ghosh, a homemaker, instilled in him values of dedication and perseverance. As their only child, Abir has always dreamt big, harboring aspirations of becoming a space scientist since childhood.
Educated in a village school, Abir’s humble beginnings never deterred his ambitions. By the age of 18, he had already undertaken over 100 research-based projects, demonstrating an early passion for science and technology. His groundbreaking innovations, including the creation of model rockets in his home laboratory, laid the foundation for his lifelong dedication to reusable space technology.
Abir’s work gained recognition early in his career. He achieved several prestigious accolades, including being a finalist in the IIT Bombay Grand Innovation Challenge (2023), and securing his place in the India Book of Records and the Asian Book of Records in 2022 for his innovative contributions to science and technology. His efforts in projects such as the Chandrayaan-2 Modified Moon Rover (recognized by ISRO and DRDO) and his award-winning Women Safety Device underscore his commitment to societal and technological advancement.
Since 2022, Abir has been devoted to the development of reusable space technology. His vision is to make India a leader in this field, leveraging his expertise to design reusable rockets and low-cost satellite payloads that can revolutionize the aerospace industry. As the leader of TALISHA Space, he has built a strong, dynamic team working tirelessly to achieve these goals. Through TALISHA, Abir also aims to empower Indian youth by providing hands-on opportunities in space projects, inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers. His work bridges the gap between innovation and accessibility, ensuring that talent from even the remotest corners of India can contribute to the nation's growth in space technology. Abir Ghosh’s journey, from a village school in West Bengal to the forefront of India’s reusable space technology movement, exemplifies determination, ingenuity, and the pursuit of excellence.
